![]() I got an android app called iDisplay which basically turns my tablet into a second PC monitor, I looked into the rendering software people are using to play games in side-by-side stereoscope only to see two programs mentioned, TriDef and VorpX, but they are both paid software, so I was hoping for any kind of free or open-source alternative I could work with. I've wanted a good, cheap 3D gaming method for a while, and though I'd love to get an Oculus Rift once the consumer model is out, I unfortunately, despite my best efforts, am unemployed, leaving me with no income and very little cash to spare. ![]() I started looking into the possibility of doing a little project turning my 8" android tablet into a 3D monitor so I could then build a custom 3D headset around it for my PC games. ![]() Viritual desktop does what it says well and has vive controller interactions for kb/m, but it brings down the fps (on my subpar rig atleast) and has little options for 3d. VorpX is less taxing on your system but more expensive, and has somewhat 3d support for common games. ![]() Free TriDef/VorpX Alternative (Stereo 3D)? VorpX is a 3D driver which allows users to play their non-VR game library immersively through an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headset. I can recommend both VorpX and Viritual desktop for just 2d gaming. ![]()
